Episode 2: Jennie Carey

09b30bdWe are thrilled we got to talk to our good friend Jennie Carey this week.  Jennie has been in the field of education, youth development, leadership, and community development for over 17 years. During this time, she has worked in public schools as a tutor and teacher, with non profits such as National Council of La Raza and Youth Venture. She has facilitated various workshops and conferences on youth development, leadership, and social entrepreneurship; immigrant parent engagement; empowering young Latino males; college access; and community schools. She received her Ed.M. from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. Currently, Jennie is the Director of Development for the Los Angeles Education Partnership (LAEP), serves as a Core Team Advisor to the Coalition for Community Schools, and is on the Executive Board of Youth Speak Collective.

Episode 1: Carlos Moran

March 1, 2016.  We are so excited to share our first podcast with you. We had a great conversation we had with Carlos, who in addition to being a new Dad, is doing some really awesome things in an old bread factory in South LA!

20150819_093613Carlos Moran is Director of Operations at Weber Community Center, a division of SSG.  His work experience in the nonprofit sector includes clinical practice, community development, non-profit development, management and evaluation.  He is a founding and active Board Member of Pathways Community School.  Carlos serves as an Adjunct Lecturer for the USC School of Social Work. ​
